Make It Monday #58 {Graduated Backgrounds}

Thursday, March 22, 2012

Watch the video for this fun technique!
I embossed the butterflies before adding my color.  I die cut the window in the card base and then attached the painted piece to the inside of the front cover.  I cut the front of the card 1inch shorter than the back to allow the painted piece to show when the card is closed.

Thanks for coming by today.
Hope you're having a great day!

  8. Awesome card. Love the pastel colors. Unique idea to only use part of the background peeking through the die & at the edge.

  9. Kara, The background is really pretty - the colors are blended seamlessly. I will have to give this a try. The sky you created looks perefect with your butterfly.

  10. I love the heat embossing used here with the watercolor effect. The sending you die is just perfect to frame up the sentiment. The color combo is awesome!
